Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluid is specifically designed to be used on vehicles equipped with ABS (anti-locking brake systems). With a dry boiling point of 522 degrees F and a wet boiling point of 365 degrees F, it remains superior to DOT 3 and 4 fluids.

Unlike DOT 5 brake fluid, DOT 5.1 uses glycol ether and borate ester compounds but has an enhanced performance like the silicon-based DOT 5, allowing it to be compatible with systems designed for DOT 3 and 4 fluids while offering enhanced performance similar to DOT 5.  While this meets and supersedes all DOT3 and 4 brake fluid requirements it CANNOT be mixed with DOT 5 fluid.
